Case study 1: WVHT St Luke’s

In August 2007 Saffer Cooper Consultancy was proud to be appointed as Development Agent to Weaver Vale Housing Trust for the “St Luke’s” Scheme.

The St Luke’s Catholic Primary School was demolished and the land stood empty for many years.  Acquired by the Weaver Vale Housing Trust this project gave rise to new affordable homes.  The architecture is breathtaking.  These stunning modern homes using a mix of modern and traditional materials produces a style in keeping with the character of the surrounding area.  The development consists of 65 low-rise affordable family homes including two, three and four bedroom layouts with secure parking, private gardens and service access.

Saffer Cooper provided project management support to Weaver Vale Housing Trust.  In consultation with our client, we prepared the detailed brief for the design stage, tendered for consultants, secured grant funding through the Homes and Communities Agency and handled audit requirements, monitored the financial aspects of the scheme, attended site meetings and checked instructions during the scheme contract stage.

These low energy houses have high quality fixtures and fittings, solar panelling and high efficiency heating systems.
